There’s truly something wonderful about a giving heart – and giving back to the people and places we call home. Since 2014, we’ve been proud to partner with Giving Hearts Day, donating countless dollars and volunteers hours to benefit incredible charities across ND and MN.
This annual 24-hour fundraising initiative is organized by Dakota Medical Foundation, and benefits charities in North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. Since the first event in 2008, generous donors have given nearly $195 million, 100% of which goes directly to charities.
This year, we shared the love throughout our incredible communities by:
Donating $25,000 to one lucky charity and surprising two more $10,000 winners
Collecting 3,851 non-perishable items for local food banks
Inspiring 166,087 nominations from community members like you
Special thanks to all the charities that participated in our 2025 nomination contest. We can’t thank you enough for inspiring others and making a difference every day in the communities we love!

At Gate City Bank, we’ve proudly donated more than $120,000 to transform this pop-up food pantry into a permanent hunger relief program in West Fargo, ND – the first of its kind in the community.
For over 20 years, Gate City Bank and YWCA Cass Clay have joined up to provide safety, warmth and hope to those who need it most – a better way of life, especially for women and children.
