When will I receive my custom debit card?

Depending on the order, you could receive it instantly!

Stop by one of our 45 convenient locations for an instant-issue debit card, which is available for our standard Gate City Bank card design and My School Spirit card designs.

You can also order a debit card via our online form or by calling our Customer Service Center at 701-293-2400 or 800-423-3344, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT. Your debit card will typically be delivered by mail within 7-10 business days. Please contact us if your card does not show up in a timely manner, and we'll be happy to assist you.

Image Requirements:

  • An image in JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG or TIF format.
  • Minimum size: The file size should be at least 50 KB in size and at least 840 x 840 pixels.
  • Maximum size: Image files cannot exceed 10 MB.

Content Considerations:

Mastercard reserves the right to determine whether a submitted image will be accepted or rejected. All images submitted must have the consent of the owner, including those images downloaded from the internet. Images that contain any of the following will be rejected:

  • Trademarks, copyrighted materials, company names, logos, slogans, brands of any third party or any material that could infringe on copyright or trademark rights.
  • Celebrities, actors, musicians, professional athletes, politicians or public figures of any kind .
  • Cartoon characters or artwork that you’ve not created and/or don’t have permission from the copyright owner to use.
  • People conducting or involving themselves in criminal or illegal activities or otherwise inappropriate behavior.
  • Racial, political, religious or socially sensitive material.
  • Provocative, lewd or sexual content, including nude or semi-nude imagery.
  • Obscene, indecent or offensive material, including profanity or any other obscenities.
  • Phone numbers, addresses, account numbers, personal identification numbers (PINs) or URL addresses.
  • Any image we deem unacceptable to be associated with the Mastercard and/or Gate City Bank brand.

Note: Images that don’t meet the above guidelines will be rejected, and you’ll be notified via online banking message. From there, you are of course welcome to submit another image!

Ordering your Gate City Bank debit card is easy! Here are the options:

You should expect to receive your card within 7-10 business days.

To report your debit card as lost or stolen through online banking:

  • Log in to your online banking account and locate the option for “Control Debit Cards,” then click “Control Cards” to display your available debit cards.
  • Locate the appropriate card, then confirm the right debit card is selected by viewing the last four digits displayed.
  • Next, select the option to “Report Lost/Stolen Card” and select “Send” to notify us.

To report your lost or stolen debit card through the mobile app:

  • Log in to your online banking account and locate the option for “Debit Cards”, then click “Control Debit Cards” to display your available debit cards.
  • Swipe through the available debit cards as needed to locate the appropriate card, then confirm the right debit card is selected by viewing the last four digits displayed.
  • Next, select the option to “Report Lost/Stolen Card” and select “Send” to notify us.

Once we’ve been notified, we’ll close the appropriate debit card within one business day. After your debit card has been closed, you’ll receive a message from us with information on how to order your new card.

In online banking, you can easily set a travel notification by navigating to “Debit Cards” and selecting “Card Management & Rewards.” From there, scroll down and select “Manage Travel Plans” under the “Manage Card” section.

For our mobile app, simply tap “Cards” and scroll down to select “Manage Travel Plans” under the “Manage Card” section.
