Williston Taps Into Fun for Bank’s Cash Wise Grand Opening.

WILLISTON, ND – The week of April 8 was a BIG one for this boomtown, filled with exciting giveaways, a special promotion and daily activities surrounding Gate City Bank’s grand opening at Cash Wise Foods.

Indeed, the grand opening event for Gate City Bank’s new Cash Wise Foods location was a hit – the perfect opportunity for customers and community members to celebrate better banking, more than 100 years in the making.

Feeling Welcome in Williston.

Gate City Bank has been embraced by Williston since day one, and the feeling is most definitely mutual. The bank was thrilled to expand its local presence by opening a second home at Cash Wise Foods on February 20, and its grand opening celebration soon after was a chance to share heartfelt thanks with the community.

“We are so grateful for the opportunity to grow the Gate City Bank footprint once again in Williston,” said Amy Mazigian, Senior Vice President of Western North Dakota. “It’s an honor to continue providing local service that’s creating a better way of life for our customers, communities and team members.”

Groceries, Giveaways & Giveback – Oh My!

Gate City Bank packed a lot of excitement into its grand opening, including by packing groceries into bags for customers! (And sprinkling in some surprise goodies.) The bank also held drawings for the chance to win a $399 BrüTank™ 55-quart rolling cooler or a $250 Mastercard® gift card, and offered up $100 to anyone who opened a new checking account or referred a friend to open an account.

While team members were on a roll with giving, they also dedicated an entire day to carry out random acts of kindness in the community. From delivering customized thank you notes to teachers and staff at Williston Public Schools to serving up 45 dozen donuts to first responders and medical professionals (in honor of the bank’s 45th location), the local team wanted to express their love and appreciation for Williston.

Celebrating Community by Cutting a Ribbon.

To officially commemorate its new location, Gate City Bank also held a warm ribbon-cutting ceremony with cookies and coffee on April 9. During the event, a handful individuals shared heartfelt words about how Williston’s culture aligns perfectly with that of the bank. Among those thankful for the bank’s growing footprint was Marcus Boykin, local Vice President, Retail Manager & Business Lender.

“At Gate City Bank, we’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity to serve Williston. The people here are remarkable – because they have hearts to give and make a difference – which is what makes this community a perfect fit for us.”

Ryker Johnson, Store Director of Cash Wise Foods in Williston, echoed that sentiment during the ribbon-cutting, adding that the bank’s partnership with Coborn’s has been essential to creating a better way of life in the area.

“Having Gate City Bank join our store has truly been the cherry on top of the cake,” Johnson said. “It’s the perfect partnership, especially in terms of ensuring customers have access to countless products and services, all in one spot.”

City Commissioner and North Dakota State Senator Brad Bekkedahl also spoke during the ceremony, emphasizing his appreciation for the bank, especially in terms of its eagerness when it comes to continually bringing opportunities and growth to the local community.

“I want to commend Gate City Bank for their continued investment and philanthropy in Williston and the surrounding area,” Bekkedahl said. “This new location is a true symbol of the bank’s excellent team members, outstanding services and customer loyalty.”

Creating a Better Way of Life in a Booming City.

Gate City Bank’s longtime partnership with Coborn’s has proved crucial to meeting the growing banking needs of communities in North Dakota, especially Williston. Coborn’s is the parent company of both Cash Wise Foods and Hornbacher’s (the bank’s partnership started in 2006).

A full-service bank that provides innovative products and services for the region’s personal, mortgage and business customers, the Cash Wise Foods location brings added convenience to customers who would like to bank while they shop. Click here to learn more about all the other great benefits Gate City Bank is providing in Williston!
