Gate City Bank donated 30,000 of its reusable blue tote bags to customers at Hornbacher’s locations in the Fargo-Moorhead area in honor of the mayoral proclamation of a “Day Without Plastic Bags” (June 5, 2018).
Gate City Bank has had a long tradition of giving away its reusable blue tote bags. With more than one million bags donated since 2007, the bank is committed to creating cleaner, greener communities, For a Better Way of Life.®
Using just one reusable bag saves 700 plastic bags from entering the environment. Over the past 10 years, the bank has helped save 700 million plastic bags from circulating.
In October 2017, Gate City Bank had also donated 15,000 reusable blue bags to Hornbacher’s customers for National Reusable Bag Day. In celebration of reaching the milestone of donating one million reusable blue bags around that time, the bank announced a contest and a donation of $10,000 to the Emergency Food Pantry.
