WILLISTON, ND – Gate City Bank’s donation will prove essential to boosting crucial mental health services throughout the region.
In celebration of Gate City Bank’s new Cash Wise Foods location, and to show love for the local community, team members paid a surprise visit to ConnectUs Foundation on February 8, where they presented the nonprofit with a $5,000 donation. The money will help further the foundation’s mission, which is to advocate for the mental-health and substance-abuse needs of clients – so they can live life to their fullest potential.
“At Gate City Bank, it’s our joy and privilege to serve the wonderful people of Williston, and that includes giving back to local nonprofits that keep our community strong,” said Marcus Boykin, Vice President, Retail Manager & Business Lender. “ConnectUs Foundation is a beloved organization that serves an incredible purpose, and we’re truly thankful for the opportunity to support them as they create a better way of life for so many across our region.”
As the check exchanged hands, Gate City Bank team members and ConnectUs representatives exchanged hugs and handshakes. The nonprofit expressed its gratitude for the donation, which will help drive its strategic initiatives.
“Gate City Bank has been so supportive of our mission for years, and they’re always doing amazing things in the community as a whole,” said Katie Shannon, Clinical Director at ConnectUs Foundation. “We’re incredibly honored to receive such a generous donation, which will help remove financial barriers for those struggling with mental health.”
Gate City Bank was excited to open its 45th location on February 20! The bank’s local presence at 300 11th St. W is the result of a longtime partnership with Coborn’s, which has proved crucial to meeting the growing banking needs of communities in North Dakota – especially Williston.
“The community of Williston has fostered a unique culture that aligns closely with our core purpose – to create a better way of life for customers, communities and team members,” Boykin said. “We’re beyond excited to continue bringing better banking to the Bakken!”
This Cash Wise Foods location joins Gate City Bank’s current location at 422 Main St. in Williston, and brings added convenience to customers who bank while they shop. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (lobby and drive-up), and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays (drive-up only), the new full-service location provides innovative products and services for the region’s personal, mortgage and business customers.
Gate City Bank’s existing Williston team is excited to continue serving residents and community partners. Whether it’s the bank’s signature customer service, knack for ingenuity or delightful reputation for greeting customers as they enter, team members look forward to growing closer with this booming city – and making a difference locally.
“Williston has had a monumental impact on our state, and it continues to experience positive growth,” Boykin said. “Whether it’s through our Main Street or Cash Wise Foods locations, at one of the community’s historical sites, in a local park or anywhere else, we can’t wait to stop and say hello, as well as provide exceptional service, strong philanthropic giving and top-notch career opportunities.”
